My name is Jen Lee and I created Build My Fresh Start. I started out as a bankruptcy attorney and found that many people coming out of bankruptcy did not know what to do to build up their financial lives after financial disaster. My main goals are educating and empowering consumers to use all of the tools available to them for the best financial future.
As a successful bankruptcy attorney, I help my clients through an emotionally (and often physically) draining financial situation. Many people who go through bankruptcy are in a fog throughout the process, feel relief that it is all over, but then don’t really know what to do next. I really enjoy the education part of what I do and want everyone who has filed bankruptcy to be a great success story. Walt Disney filed bankruptcy and look at the legacy that he left.
Prior to law school, I worked in several areas of management in the insurance and financial planning industry. In addition to my law degree from the University of Richmond, T.C. Williams School of Law, I hold an MBA in Global Management and a BS in Business Management.
I am married and we have two beautiful daughters, Ingrid and Heidi. We also love dogs and work with various rescue groups and shelters to help with fostering to get dogs into great forever homes.
